What did you work on during the retreat?

I worked on an article for Wine Searcher and also am working on compiling some of my best blog posts together in some future book form. My partner worked on a novel.

Did the retreat meet your expectations?

I would say so, I was looking for some down time to be able to pursue writing projects and I was able to do that.

What was the most unexpected part of your stay?

I’d say learning more about the Texas Wine country in the Hill Country.

What was the most enjoyable aspect of your retreat?

Peace and quiet and comfortable beds.

Did you participate in any activities or events arranged by the host winery?

We went to the tasting room and tasted through the host winery selection in their pretty little tasting room.

What other activities did you do during the retreat?

We went to local wineries. We hiked a little, although it was pretty cold when we were there.

Any tips or advice you think might be helpful for future residency applicants?

Just to bring one or two projects and try and get one done.

Can you sum up your experience in eight to ten words?

Fun, relaxing, peaceful, needed and we are very grateful.
